Why do some orders require identity verification?

Fine jewelry is high-value and a frequent target for payment fraud. For your protection and ours, high-value orders go through identity and payment verification before we release them. It keeps stolen-card and impersonation fraud out, and it protects the piece in transit.

How does identity verification work? Do you store my ID?

Accepted Answer

We use Stripe Identity, a professional verification service. You photograph a government-issued ID and take a quick selfie inside a secure Stripe-hosted flow. Stripe checks the document and the match and returns only a pass/fail result to us — we never store your raw ID or selfie ourselves.

What is the consultation call for?

For high-value pieces we have a short private consultation before payment — to confirm the details of your order, answer questions, and verify your account. After that call and a successful identity check, we approve the order and send secure payment instructions.

How do I pay for a high-value piece?

Accepted Answer

High-value pieces are settled by bank wire rather than card. After your consultation and verification, we email you secure wire instructions for that specific, approved order. We only send instructions — we never process a wire for you or ask for access to your accounts.

When are wire instructions sent?

Accepted Answer

Only after you have completed identity verification, had your consultation, and your order has been approved. Until then, no payment instructions go out and nothing is released for production or shipment.

What happens if I wire money without going through the process?

Accepted Answer

If funds arrive without going through verification and approval — for example, by reusing instructions from a past order — we return them to the originating account, less a wire-return processing fee of $50 for domestic (U.S.) returns or $75 for international returns. International returns may also lose any intermediary or correspondent-bank fees. Always wait for instructions for your specific approved order.

I bought before — do I have to verify again?

Yes. For your security we verify you again for every high-value purchase, and each order is approved on its own before we send wire instructions. Verifying once does not pre-authorize future payments.

How are orders shipped?

Every order ships fully insured for its full value with signature required on delivery, in discreet, unbranded packaging. You get tracking the moment it ships, viewable any time in your account.

Can I cancel my order?

Accepted Answer

Orders are not cancelled online — we begin sourcing stones, ordering from our vendors, or bench work soon after you order. If you need to cancel, email admin@formijewelry.com as soon as possible: if it hasn’t entered production or shipped, we’ll cancel it and refund you in full to your original payment method. Once a piece is in production or has shipped, our return policy applies.

What if my delivery date changes?

We give you a realistic estimated delivery window — with buffer — before you check out. In the rare case we need to push a ship date, we’ll let you know and ask you to confirm the new timeline. If it doesn’t work for you, contact us and we’ll arrange a full refund — we never cancel your order without your say-so.

What is your return policy?

In-stock pieces can be returned unworn within 30 days of delivery with their original packaging and certificates. Made-to-order, custom, and engraved pieces are final sale because they are created specifically for you.
