How free the diamond is of inclusions under 10× magnification.
No inclusions or blemishes under 10× magnification. Exceptionally rare.
No inclusions inside the stone; only tiny surface marks under 10×.
Minute inclusions that are very difficult to see even under 10×. Eye-clean.
Minor inclusions, hard to spot under 10×. Eye-clean and excellent value.
Inclusions noticeable under 10×. SI1 is usually eye-clean; SI2 can occasionally show.
Inclusions visible to the naked eye that may affect sparkle or durability.
The D–Z scale grades the absence of color — less is rarer.
No detectable color — the rarest, most premium grades.
