Every diamond is graded on Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat. Here’s what the codes on this lab-grown diamond mean.
How free the diamond is of inclusions under 10× magnification.
No inclusions or blemishes under 10× magnification. Exceptionally rare.
No inclusions inside the stone; only tiny surface marks under 10×.
Minute inclusions that are very difficult to see even under 10×. Eye-clean.
Minor inclusions, hard to spot under 10×. Eye-clean and excellent value.
Inclusions noticeable under 10×. SI1 is usually eye-clean; SI2 can occasionally show.
Inclusions visible to the naked eye that may affect sparkle or durability.
The D–Z scale grades the absence of color — less is rarer.
No detectable color — the rarest, most premium grades.
Color is hard to detect, especially once set. The value sweet spot.
A gentle warm tint — often beautiful in yellow or rose gold.
A more noticeable warmth.
Cut — the C that makes it sparkle
Cut, polish & symmetry are graded best to least; for a round brilliant, cut matters most.
